Agriculture has been identified as a profession with high injury rates, increasing rates of mental health concerns, and reduced access to health care programs. A needs assessment identified key health behaviors of Ohio farmers regarding their sleep, mental health, fruit/vegetable servings, physical activity, tobacco/alcohol/illicit drug use, weight status, and sun safety. Key rural health informants provided information about educational, diagnostic, and treatment services. Results will guide future interventions through partnerships with OSU Extension. Our session will describe the research approach, findings, and how our team worked together towards improving health literacy and services in rural communities to build upon successes.
